Mind Away · last updated 27 September 2026
Mind Away writes a guided relaxation for you as you listen, and reads it aloud. It is a small private preview, run by one person, not a company. This page says plainly what it keeps, why, and who helps run it.
What Mind Away keeps
- Your account: when you sign in with Google, your name, email address and Google account ID, and the first and last name you give. Google also sends your profile picture; Mind Away doesn't keep it. Mind Away asks Google for nothing else: not your contacts, mail, files or calendar.
- Your access: when you signed up and were approved, and how many minutes you listened each day, for the daily allowance.
- What you ask for: the words you type or say when you start a session or change it along the way.
- Your sessions: when they start and end, how long they last, which kind and voice you chose, and what each one cost to make.
- Feedback you choose to send, such as a rating after a session.
- Technical records: a random ID for your device, the kind of device and browser and its screen size, what you tap in the app, errors, and how the service is running, so problems can be found and fixed.
- On your device: a sign-in cookie (kept for a year, until you sign out), and your settings (voice, pace, background sound) in your browser.
When you speak to Mind Away, the recording is turned into text and then discarded; the recording itself is not kept.
Why
- To write and speak your session.
- To let people in only after they're approved, and to keep daily use within fair limits.
- To see what works, what doesn't, and what it costs, so Mind Away can get better.
Mind Away never sells your information, never shows ads, and never uses your information to train AI models.
Who helps run it
Your information is shared only with the services Mind Away needs to work, and only what each one needs:
- Anthropic (Claude): writes your session from what you asked for.
- DeepInfra: turns the written session into speech, and your spoken words into text.
- DigitalOcean: the server Mind Away runs on, in the United States.
- Google: signing in, and the emails Mind Away sends (for example, when your access is approved).
- Cloudflare: points mindaway.app to the server.
Each of them handles data under its own privacy terms. Your information may be processed in the United States.
How long it's kept
While Mind Away is in preview, your account and session records are kept so the service can be improved. You can ask for your account and everything linked to it to be deleted at any time, and it will be done within 30 days.
Your choices
- Ask what Mind Away holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it: write to mindaway.app@gmail.com.
- You can remove Mind Away's access to your Google account at any time, at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Please note
Mind Away is for relaxation. It is not medical or psychological care, and it doesn't replace a doctor or therapist. Don't listen while driving or doing anything that needs your attention. Mind Away isn't meant for anyone under 16.
